Established in 1979 through a Swedish development project, it has become one of southern Africa’s most celebrated examples of sustainable craft industry and community enterprise. Originally called Swazi Glass Craft, the factory trained local artisans under Swedish mentorship at Kosta Boda glassworks. After closing briefly in 1985, it was revived in 1987 by the Prettejohn family from South Africa, who reinstated production and rehired original glassblowers. Among them was master craftsman Sibusiso Mhlanga, later instrumental in training new generations of artisans.

Sibebe Rock Spur is a family-style steakhouse located in central Mbabane, Eswatini, named after the nearby granite monolith that dominates the city’s skyline. It combines a scenic nature reserve known for its waterfalls and wildlife with a living museum that showcases traditional Swazi culture and heritage. The reserve covers diverse landscapes of riverine forest, grassland, and rocky hillsides surrounding the Lusushwana River. Its highlight, Mantenga Falls, is Eswatini’s largest waterfall by volume. Hlane Royal National Park is the largest protected area in Eswatini, known for its abundant wildlife and traditional royal heritage. Managed by Big Game Parks, it is one of the country’s most accessible destinations for safari experiences featuring Africa’s iconic “Big Five.” The park lies within the lowveld region, characterized by semi-arid savanna, acacia scrub, and seasonal rivers. Its landscape contrasts with Eswatini’s western highlands, offering open grasslands and thornveld ideal for large mammal viewing. Hlane’s name means “wilderness” in SiSwati, reflecting its natural, untamed setting.
