Book A Trip

Pakistan, officially the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, is a South Asian country located at the crossroads of Central Asia and the Middle East. It is the world’s fifth most populous nation and the only country created in the name of Islam, with a federal parliamentary system and rich cultural and geographic diversity.
Pakistan shares borders with India, Afghanistan, Iran, and China, and has a coastline along the Arabian Sea. Its terrain ranges from the towering peaks of the Karakoram and Himalayas, including K2, to the fertile Indus River plain and the deserts of Sindh and Balochistan. The country’s climate varies from tropical in the south to alpine in the north. Pakistan is highly vulnerable to natural disasters and ranks among the top ten countries affected by extreme weather events.
Emerging from the 1947 partition of British India, Pakistan was founded to provide a homeland for Muslims under the leadership of Muhammad Ali Jinnah. Initially comprising East and West Pakistan, the eastern wing seceded in 1971 to form Bangladesh. Since independence, the nation’s politics have alternated between civilian and military rule. Pakistan adopted its first constitution in 1956, establishing itself as an Islamic republic. Pakistan’s economy is diverse but faces structural challenges. Agriculture employs a large portion of the population, while textiles, apparel, and remittances are major sources of foreign exchange. Industrialization and infrastructure projects such as the China–Pakistan Economic Corridor have spurred development, though fiscal and external imbalances persist. GDP growth remains modest amid inflationary pressures and limited foreign reserves.
